Horizontal Canal BPPV

"If the patient has a history compatible for BPPV and the Dix Hallpike test is negative, the clinician should perform a supine roll test to assess for lateral semicircular canal BPPV.  Bhattacharyya et al., 2008 states this as a recommendation based on diagnostic studies with limitations and a preponderance of benefit over harm (Bhattacharyya et al., 2008)."

Lateral Canal BPPV may often present after performing posterior canal reposition techniques (Bhattacharyya et al., 2008).

"Supine roll test is the preferred maneuver to diagnose lateral canal BPPV (Bhattacharyya et al., 2008; Herdman S. J., 2007)."
