Technique (G. Asprella Libonati, 2005)

1. Patient is brought from seated to supine position, with the head facing straight forward.

2. Head is briskly turned 90° towards healthy side

3. Patient is brought back to sitting position, keeping head to side, then slowly turns it forward.

4. This sequence is repeated for a minimum of 5 times.

Evidence
Aspreslla, 2005 recommends this technique for horizontal canalolithiasis. He is a proponent of "Strategy of Minimal Stimulus," evoking as little vertigo as possible during treatment.

166 patients were treated with this technique.
Clearance of debris occurred:
-After 3-4 maneuvers in 50% of patients
-After 5-6 maneuvers in 25% of patients
-After 8-10 maneuvers the rest were treated successfully (G. Asprella Libonati, 2005)
